The 508LS is an industrial-style double fold binder attachment used to apply bias tape or binding to the raw edges of fabric with a clean, professional finish. It is designed to fold the tape in half around the fabric while simultaneously underfolding both the top and bottom edges.
This attachment is primarily used for straight-line binding on quilts, hems, and garments like t-shirt necklines.
Finish Style: Creates a "clean finish" where the raw edges of the binding tape are tucked underneath on both sides.
Material Compatibility: This style works best with light fabric binding; it is not suitable for leather, vinyl, or very heavy materials.
Size Options: The attachment comes in various sizes, such as a 1 1/4" cut that results in a 3/8" finished width or a 1" cut resulting in a 1/4" finished width.
Setup: It typically mounts to the sewing machine bed using two thumb screws. Note that the tape feeder mouth is adjustable front-to-back to avoid hitting the feed dogs or presser foot.
