Beat the Heat - Flip Flop Quilt - with Lisa - South
Take a break from the heat and join Lisa in making a fun flip flop quilt! Once completed you can keep that summer feeling all year long with a bit of sunshine!
Supply List for Students:
- Background fabric: 1.5 M
- Flip flop Fabrics: a total of 1.5M required for flip flops. If you want your flip flops to be the same color, buy 1 M for the flip flops and .5 M for the toe thongs. If you want your flip flops to be different, you can use a dessert roll, layer cake, fat quarters or scraps.
- Sashing fabric: 1 M
- Cornerstone fabric: 1/4M
- Border fabric: 1.25M
- Binding fabric 5.M
- 2 M Fusible (Steam A seam 2 or Steam a Seam 2Lite). DO NOT buy heat and bond.
- Piecing thread
- Embroidery Thread – to match flip flops & Toe Thongs (If you don’t already have embroidery thread, I recommend not purchasing until after the 1st class)
- Bobbin thread (white)
- Medium weight tear away stabilizer
- Machine in good working condition (Bring instruction manual). If your machine has an embroidery bobbin case, bring it along with your
- regular bobbin case.
- ¼” piecing foot
- Open toe applique foot
- Microtex needles
- Fabric Scissors & Fabric Snips

- 8.5” X 24” OR 6.5” X 24” ruler
- 12.5” square ruler
- 45mm OR 60mm rotary cutter with new blade
