SEW FUN! Youth Summer Camp Level 1- WEST

Welcome to SEW FUN! Level 1! In this summer camp participants will learn how to use a Babylock sewing machine to make a lap blanket and travelling pillow case, perfect for car trips, plane rides, hockey games, or just relaxing on the couch with a bowl of popcorn.  Please join us today for one of our morning or afternoon spots and let’s learn how to sew!

Perfect class for youth ages (11 to 14 years old) who are creative and want to learn a new life skill.

Supply List for Students:

• 2 meters flannel print (fun print of a subject you like) (Pre wash please and press (if possible))
• 2 meters flannel solid colour (should match your printed flannel) (Pre wash please and press (if possible))
• 2 meters flannel solid different colour (should match your printed flannel) (Pre wash please and press (if possible))
• 2 meters of 100% Pellon Batting
• 2 meters of artic polar fleece it should match the other colours of your flannel (Pre wash please)
• 2 packages of double wide binding (colour should match rest of blanket)
• 20”X20” pillow insert
• 2 spools of Gutermann thread (smaller 100m size) colour should match rest of blanket

*The teacher does ask that the flannel and the polar fleece materials come pre washed; if you dry the materials dry them on low heat to prevent too much shrinking.

Sewing machines and tools (scissors, measuring tapes, disolvible pencils and pins/ clips etc) will be provided in the classroom for the classroom use only. Six spots available in the morning and 6 spots available in the afternoon for ages 11 to 14 years old.

Please bring a peanut free snack as there will be a 15- 20 minute break.
