Spiral Star - South with Lois
Check out this lone star with a unique twist. The colours spiral out from the center for a new route for the eye to follow. Make the star by itself for a wall hanging or add some borders to increase the size for a bed.
Supply List:
- Sewing machine (in good working condition) and usual sewing supplies
- ¼” foot
- Seam ripper
- Neutral thread
- Silk pins
- Rotary cutter and mat
- 6x24 ruler with 45 degree marking
- 12 ½” square ruler for background squares
- Fons and Porter Diagonal sets ruler (large one- optional but very useful for any on-point set quilt)
Fabric needed:
- .25m each of eight different colours (make sure you have lots of contrast between the colours to emphasize the spiral effect)
- .8m for star background
- .7m for small border and binding
