Dragon Dreams Quilt - Opal - South 4
This pattern is adorable and small. The class will help you build the skills required to make any of the animal quilts that are currently popular. The first class (2 Hours) will focus on organizing and cutting material. In class two (3 hours) we will start the assembly process so you can confidently finish this quilt!
Lesson Plan & Supply List:
- Lesson #1- Cutting and labeling quilt pieces
- PATTERN: DRAGON DREAMS by Apples & Beavers
- FABRIC: As specified in project
- Paper clips
- Straight pins
- 6 zip-lock bags or containers to sort fabric pieces into
- Scissors
- Rulers:
- Straight ruler: Either a 6" X 12" ruler or a 6 inch x 24inch ruler
- 6.5 inch square
o CUTTING MAT: 18 in X 24 in is sufficient, but bring what ever size you have
- rotary cutter + 1 spare blade.
- I like to have a spare available as I sometimes nick a blade on a straight pin which reduces its effectiveness plus cutting though repetitive seams of a paper piecing project will also dull the blade
- Lesson # 2 - Start assembling the quilt.
- All the items from lesson #1 - plus
- Sewing Machine (in good working order with usual parts and accessories, you must know how to use your machine)
- Machine needles
- ¼ inch foot .
- Thread
o Optional: Wool Pressing mat and an iron. There be several ironing boards and irons in the room, but bringing your own and maybe optimal. Pressing as we assemble is important.
