Summer Break - Kids Learn to Sew 1 - Nancy - West

Start your youth's summer break out with a Learn to Sew Class.  This is four sessions of learning the first week of summer break.  The students will learn how to use a sewing machine and then construct simple projects such as a pencil/tablet case and stuffies/pillow.  Students must be age 10 or over.


  • headed pins
  • pin holder or cushion
  • seam ripper
  • marking pen or pencil
  • hand sewing needle
  • fabric scissors
  • trimming scissors


Pencil Case/Laptop Case: 
  • 0.4 m woven fabric
  • Matching thread (Gutterman)
  • Velcro - approximately 20 cm

Stuffie/Alphabet Pillow: 

  • 0.5 m woven fabric (flannel, denim, cotton/polyester blend fabric) Please AVOID thick and long plush or pile fabrics
  • Matching Thread (Gutterman)
  • Small bag of polyfil/stuffing
  • Optional:  Eyes (buttons or glue on)
