Techniques: Partial Seams - Lois - South 2

Partial seams are one of those things you look at and say, "How did they do that?" Well, after this class, you will know the answer. They are not difficult at all and you will have plenty of blocks in no time. The best part, when joining these blocks, no need to match any seams!

Supply List:

  • Sewing machine with ¼” foot
  • Usual sewing notions
  • Rotary cutter and mat
  • 6x12 ruler or larger to cut sashing strips.
  • Square ruler to trim the blocks if needed (will depend on the size of your starting square what size your blocks will be))  (9.5 x 9.5 ruler will be suitable for most blocks)
  • Fabrics needed:
    • Some blocks to frame (sample blocks are cut 4 ½”)
    • Two or more 2 ½” strips for the frames (sample has two colours but you can use up to four different colours)
