Pick a novelty print and a contrasting border fabric and you’re ready to set the table with these lovely bordered placemats! The best part is, the back looks just as good as the front- if a spill should happen, just flip it over! Choose your center according to your interests or the interests of a recipient because these make great gifts. If you have an embroidery machine, you can even add embroidery to the center panel for a truly customized and unique project.

- Sewing machine and attachments (machine must be in good working order and you must know how to use it)
- walking foot (optional)
- ¼” foot
- edgestitch foot (optional)
- regular sewing supplies including seam ripper
- thread to match backing fabric and border
- straight pins with glass heads (not optional)
- 20” x 26” piece of bristol board, cardstock or heavy paper for patterns
- pencil to draw patterns
- strong paper scissors
- rotary cutter, 6” x 24” ruler
- sharp fabric scissors
- point turner
- Tentest board (or other pinnable and iron surface) approx 17” x 20” (Bring old pillowcase or fabric to cover board.)
