1 piece of interfacing or stiffening (optional)
small piece of ribbon or cord approximately 2 inches long
one small button
lace to edge lid - ruffled or flat

Instructions

Sew 1/4" seams with right sides of the fabrics together with batting on top. Trim the batting from the seams. Turn right side out.

Opening for turning will be sewn as box is sewn and does not require hand stitching.

At point B stop slightly away from the end, pivot and rotate the box side to point C. Finish sewing to point C on both sides making sure the outside fabric is caught in the seam.

Sew a scant 1/8" seam from point E to point D.

Turn box right side out.

Sew on button and trim top with lace.

NOTE: Lace could also be enclosed in the seam at first sewing. Pin in from point C to point C.
