Good service and happy customers have always been a priority at Central. In the mid 1960's, Bert Reich, the original owner of Central Sewing, started selling sewing machines door-to-door in the farming communities around Barrhead and Westlock, Alberta. He braved muddy roads and biting dogs to sell the sewing machines and to give lessons to the lady of the house as well as her entire family. The business grew as his customers referred their friends and relatives to him for their sewing machine requirements. Demand for the sewing products and the quality of service increased to the extent that Bert opened two locations within Fabricland stores. That led to the opening of a two brand new stores, fully staffed with friendly sales people, skilled repair technicians and expert sewing teachers.

Bert's son, Randy, now owns and manages both stores. This September Randy proudly announced the opening of the expanded south side location. The store now has a larger service department, more space for notions and a new section for industrial sewing machines and other sewing tools as well as two spacious brightly lit sewing classrooms. It now has 4 large classrooms to teach all types of sewing construction from beginners to advanced.

The newest tool that will make your sewing look even better is the new Euro-Pro Ironing Solution. Its the home pressing product that gives a professional touch to sewing (Of course it is great for regular ironing too!).

Another new development in sewing products is the embroidery feature that is now available either as a separate machine or as a built-in feature of the top machines. The embroidery capabilities really make it exciting to sew and create garments and projects that are extra special. Who hasn't wished they had a bit more time to hand embroider a little motif on a baby's outfit. These machines make it easy and very special.
