The artista 180 Special Edition 2000 offers more exciting features than ever.

   The world's first sewing and embroidery computer teams up with Bernina's revolutionary Customized Pattern Selection (CPS) software and ARTLINK to provide full connectivity with your PC.

For the ultimate in customization, artista lets you choose... which stitches reside in your machine... which designs are stored in the embroidery module. Artista is so customizable, you can even choose the color of your machine!

With ARTLINK, you can open, resize (with the stitch count being adjusted), rotate and send designs to an from your embroidery system (with the optional embroidery module). You control artista from its large, clear LCD screen. With a touch of your finger, you choose from 237 stitches, create a personal sewing menu, automatically size a buttonhole, sew in any of 16 directions, or get help from the on-screen Creative Consultant.

With the embroidery module, you get an extra large hoop and fully variable pattern sizing, up to a huge 6" x 8". Not to mention the 35 built-in designs you personally choose, the seven decorative alphabets, and the exclusive Studio Bernina designs from artista like Beatrix Potter, Precious Moments, Mary Engelbreit, Martha Pullen and Debbie Mumm. First and foremost, artista was designed for the way you sew. Because we all sew a little differently, artista was designed to be custom fitted to your own sewing style.

Create your own personal program with the stitches you use most often. It's like having all your tools handy at once. You can include a particular stitch more than once in your personal program, each time with different settings (a Bernina exclusive). Use the SETUP program to customize your artista. You can even reprogram the length and width of most stitches so they will be just the way you want them whenever you turn on your artista.

With Version 3.0 you can now pick the color or your artista. With our new colored exterior options, you can choose between a Red, Blue or traditional White artista to suit your sewing personality What is your favorite function? The Favorite Function Button (a Bernina exclusive), located near the stitching area, allows you to put the function you use the most right at your fingertips. You can also customize which functions will be displayed on screen and in what order.

The artista 180 offers a complete library of stitches with over 250 stitches built in (not counting alphabets and monograms), from the practical to the decorative, including heirloom and quilting menus. The artista 180 also offers the benefits of sideways motion stitches. Create large borders, add Monograms in various sizes. You can even sew selected practical stitches in 4 different directions. The built-in stitch package can be updated at any time with Bernina's exclusive Customized Pattern Selection (CPS) software. Button, button, who's got the button? Don't know what size of buttonhole to use for that button? Just put the button against the screen and let artista determine the size for you (a Bernina exclusive). Because one buttonhole size does not fit all, artista allows you to make fully automatic buttonholes in a variety of ways, to suit all your applications. artista will even remember the size of the buttonholes you sewed today, even after you turn it off. Finally, a Creative Consultant will assist you with any sewing task, from basic seaming to intricate decorative work. It will suggest what needle(s), presser foot, etc. to use.    Our optional embroidery module features one of the widest hoops on the market. You can create larger designs. You can also combine embroidery designs on screen without having to rehoop the fabric. And with the large touch screen, laying out your designs is a breeze. Combine designs with on-screen editing and customizing: load multiple designs at once (even from different embroidery cards), combine them with lettering (with the built-in alphabets). Rotate designs in 5 degree increments (in either direction) artista is the only embroidery system to offer stitch processing (a Bernina exclusive). When scaling a design up or down, the machine will automatically fill in the stitches as needed. You can even alter stitch length and density manually.

Our exclusive split-stitch feature will adjust the stitches when resizing designs to maintain the original effect. Other embroidery systems require a personal computer to accomplish what you can do with artista alone When combining designs (and lettering), you can resize each design element independently (a Bernina Exclusive). The combined design can be sewn or stored on a Personal Design Card.
